Skin Care For Your Face - Cleansers I Can't Live Without

Well, obviously I could, but certainly wouldn't want to. These three items have transformed my skin and made my skin care routine a breeze.

1. L'Occitane Cleansing Foam

Many years ago, for a very short period of time, I was a rep for L'Occitane (pronounced: lox - ee - tawn). Part of my job required trying all of the products so I could recommend them to others. It was during this time that I first fell in love with the fabulous L'Occitane Cleansing Foam and still use it every morning in the shower. The foamy texture is soft and creamy and there is a nice mild fragrance of the immortelle flower. What I love most about the L'Occitane Cleansing Foam is that it keeps acne at bay - thanks to having the most sensitive skin ever, I still get breakouts in my 40's (good times!) - and it isn't drying at all, not even a little bit. In short, the L'Occitane Cleansing Foam is the perfect foam cleanser. Even my teen son recently started using it with very positive results.

2. Arcona Triad Pads

I am pretty sure I have converted all of my friends' night time face washing routines into using the Arcona Triad Pads rather than a standard soap cleanser. They kick ass! Before discovering the Triad Pads admittedly I didn't wash my face at night -gross, I know, but sometimes gross trumps tired. At least it used to. Now I keep these on my nightstand (next to my vitamins, SO much easier to remember to take them at night, and way nicer on the stomach) as I climb into my very luxurious bed (will save that for another post) I simply wipe a Triad Pad across my face, eyes (it's brilliant at removing eye makeup) and neck. If I'm feeling particularly dry / dehydrated I'll also use a face serum / lotion after the Triad Pad, but usually I don't need to. If you are wary of using a wipe Arcona sells singles for traveling (also available at Nordstrom), which is a nice way to give it a try. You'll be hooked, I promise.

For those of you with teens in your life, my son uses the Arcona Proficiency Pads at night to help keep the acne at a minimum. As far as teen skin goes, his is remarkably acne free.

3. Hydrogen Peroxide

My super secret weapon for pretty much everything, hydrogen peroxide! At my house hydrogen peroxide is kept on the bathroom counter in a spray bottle for convenience. If (more like when) I have an acne breakout my first line of defense is to do a quick spot treatment spray of hydrogen peroxide directly on the offender after washing my face with the L'Occitane Cleansing Foam and prior to applying face serum / lotion. It works like a charm and costs practically nothing. Plus it's gratifying to see the classic hydrogen peroxide white bubbles so you know it's working.

Other skincare products I love...

LOVE all three! (I prefer the lotion in a pump though)
L'Occitane Almond Supple Skin

Kate Somerville 360 Self Tanning Towelette
